Key Responsibilities

Safety strategy leadership: Act as a thought leader in safety strategy and performance improvement, guiding clients in designing and implementing safety initiatives, culture programs, and management systems for the renewable energy sector.
Regulatory advisory: Provide expert guidance on compliance with local and international safety regulations and standards, including the Factories Act, OSHA, ISO 45001, IFC Performance Standards, and FPE requirements.
Project delivery management: Ensure effective project scoping, budgeting, resource planning, and timely delivery in line with client expectations and ERM quality standards.

Trusted client advisor: Build and maintain long-term client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor on safety and risk management.
Executive communication: Translate complex technical safety issues into clear, practical insights for senior leadership.
Integrated EHS solutions: Collaborate across functions and disciplines to deliver integrated EHS solutions with safety as a central focus.

Consultant development: Mentor and coach junior consultants to strengthen internal safety capability, technical knowledge, and client-facing skills.
High-performance culture: Promote a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and high performance within project teams.
Knowledge sharing: Lead internal knowledge-sharing initiatives to build thought leadership in occupational safety and health.
Principal Consultant leadership: For Principal Consultant roles, lead large, diverse, multi-geography teams and drive broader organizational thought leadership.

Opportunity identification: Identify and pursue opportunities for safety consulting services across sectors such as manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, and chemicals.
Proposal support: Support key account planning, proposal development, and pitch presentations with a strong safety-focused value proposition.
Industry representation: Represent ERM at industry forums, webinars, and client events as a subject matter expert in occupational safety and risk management.
Strategic growth: For Principal Consultant roles, lead strategic growth initiatives and secure high-value consulting opportunities.

Qualifications

Educational background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Safety, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Mandatory certifications: Certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, IOSH, or equivalent are required.
Preferred credentials: CSP, CMIOSH, or similar globally recognized safety credentials would be a strong advantage.
Relevant experience: Minimum of 12–15 years of experience in the renewable energy sector.
International standards exposure: Proven experience with IFC, World Bank, and EHS guidelines, including work with international lending institutions.
Renewable project expertise: Strong experience across construction and operations of transmission lines, wind energy projects, and solar installations.
Engineering foundation: Solid engineering background with the ability to apply technical knowledge to large-scale renewable energy projects.
Execution and risk management: Hands-on experience in project execution, operational excellence, and risk management within renewable energy projects.
Communication and leadership: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage clients, lead project teams, and deliver high-quality consulting outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
