Senior Advisor – Safety, Health & Environment (Roads Experience) Full Time

Job Description

We are looking for a highly experienced and meticulous Senior Advisor – Safety, Health and Environment to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This role is critical in leading the organization’s compliance with SH&E requirements, designing and managing comprehensive safety programs, and strengthening a culture of safety and environmental accountability across the business.

Key Job Duties

• Act as the main point of contact for all Safety, Health, and Environment matters, offering expert advice and support to both management and employees.
• Develop, implement, and manage broad SH&E strategies and programs that align with company objectives and regulatory obligations.
• Carry out routine risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and opportunities for improvement.
• Lead investigations into incidents, injuries, and near misses, and ensure corrective actions are introduced to prevent future occurrences.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to embed SH&E best practices into all operational activities.
• Supervise and mentor junior SH&E team members, supporting their development and maintaining strong performance standards.
• Keep current with UAE and international SH&E laws, standards, and best practices to ensure full organizational compliance.
• Design and deliver SH&E training initiatives to improve awareness, knowledge, and capability throughout the organization.
• Prepare detailed SH&E reports and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Manage emergency response planning and support crisis management activities.
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities and represent the organization in SH&E-related discussions and matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• NEBOSH Diploma or an equivalent certification is required for candidates with Engineering or related academic backgrounds.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in the SH&E field, including significant supervisory and leadership responsibility.
• Experience working on roads and infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing successful health and safety programs.
• Strong understanding of UAE and international SH&E legal and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong capability in risk assessment and mitigation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in software and tools used for SH&E management and reporting.
• Demonstrated experience in carrying out inspections, documenting issues, and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
• Familiarity with international SH&E standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to guide, mentor, and develop team members.
• Good knowledge of UAE-specific safety regulations and standards.
• Willingness to travel within the UAE for site inspections and audits when required.
