Regional Environmental Health & Safety Specialist Full Time

What You Will Do

• Support and coordinate safety process initiatives across commercial sales and service offices, under the direction of the Regional EHS Leader.
• Conduct inspections, risk assessments, and jobsite visits with technicians at customer locations, covering both service and contracting work.
• Ensure safety, occupational health, and environmental records are accurately maintained and aligned with OSHA, DOT, provincial, state, local, and other regulatory requirements, as well as Trane procedures.
• Implement Trane safety policies and procedures and ensure employees comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Analyse safety data to support continuous improvement efforts and participate in Lean processes, including the Regional EHS A3.
• Assist in developing and delivering annual safety training across assigned offices for regional employees.
• Conduct new-hire safety training and support PPE implementation, purchasing, and compliance with Trane field standards.
• Deliver in-person high-risk safety training and assign online training based on business needs and the regional training plan.
• Maintain regional databases related to training, Qualified Person status, PPE, and inspections.
• Participate in corporate safety teams as needed to support the development of safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure safety and environmental invoices and purchase requisitions are processed on time.
• Coordinate and lead Safety Committees in assigned areas and ensure action items are completed promptly.
• Support investigations of injuries, near misses, incidents, and accidents, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed.
• Use the company EHS platform, Benchmark|Gensuite, to assign and track inspections, safety concerns, near miss reports, action items, and generate reports.
• Support the review and mitigation of safety concerns raised through business platforms such as XOi, ProCore, and similar tools.
• Ensure regular inspections and audits are completed across assigned offices and assist teams in corrective and preventive action planning.
• Assist with workers’ compensation administration, including coordination with the insurance carrier and support for return-to-work programs.
• Represent the organisation in community or industry safety groups and programs.
• Support contractor evaluation as part of the regional contractor qualification process.
• Assist other Trane Technologies businesses, including co-located Trane Supply stores, as needed.
• Travel across the region to spend time with technicians on jobsites and rotate through regional offices regularly.
• Use remaining time for administrative work, regulatory documentation, and follow-up on safety concerns from the base office.
• Travel up to 60% across the assigned region.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental or Safety Sciences/Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• One or more safety-related professional certifications preferred, such as CSP, CIH, or CHSM.
• Minimum 3 years of practical EHS management experience, preferably at a medium to large site.
• General knowledge of Cal-OSHA preferred, along with EPA, MSHA, and DOT requirements.
• Experience interpreting federal, provincial, state, local, environmental, and safety standards.
• Strong time management skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Experience using EHS data management systems such as Gensuite.
• Ability to motivate, engage, and influence others.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including clear written and verbal English communication.
• Bilingual ability is an added advantage.
• Ability to adapt effectively in fast-paced environments with changing priorities, direction, and strategy.
