Health Safety and Environment Engineer Full Time

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor HSEQ policies, procedures, and systems.
• Work effectively with people from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
• Communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels, including external parties.
• Manage deadlines, organise priorities, and support smooth HSEQ delivery.
• Lead, mentor, and guide teams on HSEQ practices and initiatives.
• Coordinate incident investigations and report findings, actions, and outcomes.
• Develop coaching and mentoring programmes to keep staff updated on HSEQ requirements.
• Prepare and implement audit programmes covering contract and project deliverables.
• Ensure all audit non-conformances are tracked and closed.
• Promote safety practices aimed at zero injury, zero risk, and zero harm.

Safety, Health & Environment

• Coordinate with MM Group for implementation of minimum HSE requirements and procedures.
• Ensure Project Quality and HSE plans are implemented through site visits and audits.
• Conduct HSE risk assessments and environmental aspect-impact analysis for construction sites and offices.
• Plan regular and ad hoc HSE audits across the organisation.
• Develop and deliver HSEQ training and project orientation sessions.
• Monitor environmental controls, waste minimisation activities, and sustainability initiatives.
• Provide coaching, toolbox talks, and safety training as required.
• Stay updated on local HSE legislation and communicate relevant changes to project teams and clients.
• Work with standards and systems such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and Mott MacDonald BMS.

Quality

• Prepare and implement quality control procedures.
• Coordinate periodic audits of the quality control system and identify non-conformances.
• Maintain quality records, inspection documentation, and non-compliance tracking systems.
• Ensure quality assurance is maintained across multiple contractors.
• Work in line with ISO 9001 and Mott MacDonald BMS quality standards.

Candidate Specification

• Degree or recognised international OSH diploma, such as NEBOSH Diploma, in engineering, environment, safety, or a related discipline.
• Relevant HSE qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, or equivalent.
• Experience in a similar role, including both office and site environments.
• Strong understanding of SHEQ policies, standards, and practices.
• Technical knowledge of SHEQ processes, including P&ID, HAZOP, SIL, and related practices.
• Ability to prepare reports, presentations, and technical documents.
• Strong HSE coaching and mentoring capability.
• Knowledge of industry-specific environments is preferred but not mandatory.
• Middle East work experience is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.
• Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to manage workloads across teams and projects.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to build effective relationships and working environments.
• Ability to manage diverse, multicultural, and geographically distributed teams.
