Regional Environmental Health & Safety Specialist Full Time

Key Responsibilities

• Support and coordinate environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives across commercial sales and service locations under the guidance of the Regional EHS Leader.
• Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, safety audits, and jobsite visits alongside field technicians at customer locations to identify hazards and promote safe work practices.
• Maintain accurate safety, occupational health, and environmental records while ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, state, provincial, and other applicable regulatory requirements, as well as company policies.
• Implement and reinforce company safety programs, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance across all operational activities.
• Analyze safety performance metrics and incident data to drive continuous improvement and support Lean and operational excellence initiatives.
• Assist in developing and delivering annual safety training programs for employees across assigned regional offices.
• Conduct safety orientation programs for new hires and support the procurement, implementation, and management of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Facilitate high-risk safety training sessions, assign required online learning modules, and support regional workforce development plans.
• Maintain and update training records, qualified person certifications, PPE inventories, inspection databases, and compliance tracking systems.
• Collaborate with corporate teams to support the development and enhancement of safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Process environmental and safety-related purchase requests and invoices in a timely and organized manner.
• Lead and coordinate regional Safety Committee meetings, ensuring action items are addressed and completed effectively.
• Participate in investigations involving incidents, injuries, near misses, and accidents, while ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
• Utilize EHS management platforms such as Benchmark Gensuite to monitor inspections, track corrective actions, manage incident reports, and generate compliance reports.
• Support the review and resolution of safety concerns raised through operational platforms such as XOi, ProCore, and similar systems.
• Ensure routine safety inspections and compliance audits are conducted across assigned locations and assist with corrective action planning.
• Support the administration of workers’ compensation programs, including return-to-work initiatives and coordination with insurance providers.
• Represent the organization in industry forums, professional associations, and community safety initiatives.
• Assist in evaluating contractors as part of regional contractor qualification and safety assessment programs.
• Provide EHS support to affiliated business units and co-located facilities as required.
• Travel extensively throughout the assigned region to support field operations, conduct site visits, engage with technicians, and oversee safety activities, while balancing administrative and compliance responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related field preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), CHSM, or equivalent credentials are highly desirable.

Experience

• Minimum of three years of hands-on experience managing environmental, health, and safety programs, preferably within medium-to-large operational environments.
• Working knowledge of Cal-OSHA, OSHA, EPA, MSHA, DOT, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
• Experience interpreting and applying federal, state, provincial, local, environmental, and occupational safety regulations.

Technical & Professional Skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, as well as EHS management systems such as Gensuite.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong analytical skills with experience using safety data to identify trends and improve performance.
• Ability to engage, motivate, and influence employees, supervisors, and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual capabilities are considered an advantage.
• Proven adaptability and resilience in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities, operational demands, and business strategies.

Travel Requirement

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% of the time throughout the assigned regional territory.
