Facilities EHS Representative Full Time

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively identify, evaluate, and control workplace health and safety risks while leading incident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventive measures. Promote a strong safety culture through training initiatives, audits, and employee engagement.
• Manage fire and life safety systems, including detection, alarm, suppression equipment, emergency lighting, and evacuation procedures, ensuring all systems are properly maintained, tested, and compliant with statutory requirements.
• Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations by coordinating compliance activities, supporting regulatory inspections and audits, maintaining required permits and certifications, and serving as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities.
• Administer and optimize EHS and facilities management platforms (IOSS), ensuring accurate tracking of incidents, risks, compliance obligations, asset performance, and operational data.
• Assess organizational training needs related to EHS, develop action plans to address competency gaps, and coordinate safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
• Review contractor safety submissions, permits, risk assessments, and work plans; conduct contractor audits and safety meetings while monitoring performance metrics and ensuring timely closure of corrective actions.
• Carry out routine facility inspections, safety observations, and hazard assessments, documenting findings and verifying that identified issues are effectively resolved.
• Establish and monitor EHS performance indicators, prepare management reports, analyze trends, develop monthly safety communications, and provide insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of experience in facilities safety, environmental health and safety program implementation, construction safety, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of OSHA requirements, environmental compliance obligations, fire safety regulations, and workplace health and safety standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional reports and deliver effective safety training programs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, along with experience using EHS, compliance, or permit management systems.
• Experience overseeing hazardous materials and waste management programs, coupled with practical knowledge of facility operations, maintenance trades, and associated workplace hazards.
