Key Responsibilities

Track global news, policy updates, and economic indicators throughout the day to identify developments relevant to the crude oil industry and the broader energy sector.
Review, analyse, and consolidate information from a wide range of international sources, highlighting developments that may affect the oil industry and global energy trends.
Prepare and organise the department’s Daily News Report, ensuring key updates are clearly summarised, prioritised, and shared effectively with internal stakeholders.
Build a strong understanding of how geopolitical events, economic movements, and policy changes shape global crude oil markets, while identifying emerging issues and trends worth following.
Ensure that news monitoring and analysis add value to the department’s wider market intelligence and research work.

Additional Responsibilities

Provide research and analytical support to the MANBD department on issues affecting the oil industry and the wider energy market.
Assist in drafting and updating internal marketing reports, industry briefings, and analytical documents.
Maintain and refresh tracking spreadsheets, data sources, and internal research resources related to marketing and industry developments.
Support the creation of charts, graphs, and infographics for internal presentations and market or industry reports.
Offer occasional backup support for colleagues involved in report preparation and data tracking.
Help collect background information and supporting materials for research assignments and market analysis projects.

University degree or an equivalent qualification.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital research tools.
Clear interest in global affairs, geopolitics, and international economic developments.
Strong curiosity about the factors influencing oil and energy markets.
Ability to filter and identify important information from large volumes of news and data.
Strong research, organisation, and information collection skills.
Excellent written communication and summarisation abilities.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
