Energy Industry Specialist – Hybrid (Washington DC) Full Time

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities among key stakeholders, including DOE, other federal agencies, and industry representatives from the electric, oil, and gas sectors.
• Support technical writing and communication tasks, including editing, reviewing, formatting documents, and preparing presentations and briefings.
• Participate in DOE working groups and help coordinate efforts across different DOE offices.
• Manage meeting logistics, including preparing minutes, tracking milestones and priorities, and following up on action items.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in energy policy, public policy, government, communications, economics, business, or a related field, with 4+ years of experience in research, policy writing, and energy markets or infrastructure such as electricity, natural gas, or petroleum.

OR

• Master’s degree in energy policy, public policy, government, communications, economics, business, or a related field, with 2+ years of experience in research, policy writing, and energy markets or infrastructure.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Skills / Experience

• Experience supporting a federal client, especially DOE, FERC, or DHS, or working with an energy company or industry association.
• Experience managing projects involving internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to build relationships, support collaboration, and coordinate public-private partnerships.
• Experience planning and executing meetings, workshops, briefings, or convenings, including agenda development, speaker coordination, logistics, and follow-up, preferably in a government or energy-sector setting.
• Experience in research, writing, policy, and energy infrastructure or markets, including electricity, natural gas, or petroleum.
