APTIM is hiring for a EHS Specialist, to prepare compliance reports, conduct technical and regulatory analyses, perform field sampling, inspections, and audits, and support permitting, assessments, and safety projects to ensure environmental standards are met. You’ll apply your expertise to both standard and unique situations, ensuring environmental standards are met across projects.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
As a EHS Specialist, you will:
- Provides technical support to clients in a variety of work scopes including but not limited to: environmental site assessments, monitoring, permitting, regulatory reporting, asbestos surveys, noise surveys, database entry, procedure writing, and safety evaluations.
- Collects and interprets samples.
- Executes field work, within project schedule and budgetary goals, and supervises contractors.
- Conducts work independently or as part of a project team and can adjust to rapidly changing site conditions or client requirements.
- Adheres to established health and safety policies and procedures and executes work in a safe and conscientious manner.
- Supports environmental and safety permitting and permit compliance projects.
- Drafts technical documents for regulatory agencies and private clients.
- Understands technical concepts, evaluation results, plans, reports, and ensures conformance to applicable technical standards as well as company policies and procedures.
- Manages own schedule and balances multiple priorities to meet project targets and deadlines.
- Utilizes best practices and knowledge of internal and external business systems to improve products or services as a collaborative member of the APTIM team.
Basic Qualifications
As a EHS Specialist, you should have:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental/Safety Science or Related Field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Uses time effectively; anticipates obstacles, adjusts priorities as needs change and keeps others informed of progress.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast paced, dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to travel as needed with occasional overnight stays.
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
