What You Will Do
In this role, consultants contribute to project teams on both client-facing and internal initiatives. The position involves supporting client relationships, helping implement solutions, and producing project outcomes that are insightful, accurate, and well-presented. A major part of the role is preparing and delivering high-quality work products that move key project workstreams forward. This includes collecting and analyzing data, identifying performance gaps and trends, and developing recommendations based on baseline performance, organizational structures, and relevant benchmarks or best practices. Responsibilities also include carrying out technical, economic, and financial analyses through data gathering, modeling, and management of analytical tools; assessing energy efficiency opportunities and renewable energy technologies; and applying sustainability-related analytics such as greenhouse gas accounting, climate risk evaluation, ESG disclosure requirements, and emissions abatement analysis. The role also calls for structured research on business, sustainability, and energy topics, as well as evaluating market trends and leading practices. In addition, you will help shape corporate sustainability and business strategies, assist with project management and selected business development efforts, and communicate findings clearly through polished reports and presentations prepared for clients.
What You Will Need
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, engineering, science, or a related field, along with one to three or more years of experience in quantitative analysis. A strong interest in corporate sustainability and the energy transition is important, as are excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, particularly in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and will demonstrate a proactive, self-directed approach to work. Strong client-facing skills, a professional presence, and the ability to present ideas effectively are essential. This role also requires someone who can take ownership of substantial parts of assignments while working closely within a collaborative team environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, and the ability to travel when needed is expected, although most travel is currently limited. Due to contract requirements, applicants must meet U.S. citizenship restrictions, and the selected candidate must also be free of any prior employment limitations, such as non-compete agreements, that would interfere with carrying out the responsibilities of the role.
