Associate Director – Data Partnership, Energy Horizon Full Time

Responsibilities & Impact

• Support the development and execution of a data strategy for Energy Horizons aligned with S&P Global and EDO priorities.
• Act as the EDO subject matter expert for Energy Transition and broader Horizons datasets.
• Serve as the link between S&P Global Energy Horizons and EDO, ensuring clear communication on project opportunities, progress, and overall health.
• Manage the delivery of strategic Energy Transition initiatives for Financial Institutions, from PoC and MVP through to full release.
• Define data structures, document data flows, and resolve inconsistencies or errors across Energy Transition datasets.
• Monitor data quality metrics and drive continuous improvement with research and product stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product leads, project teams, cross-divisional products, EDO teams, and other stakeholders to define data needs and ensure system alignment.
• Maintain data standards, controlled vocabularies, governance policies, and related system documentation.
• Support consistent data governance by helping develop and enforce policies for data quality, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Understand client business challenges, identify data requirements, design solutions, and present actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Work with operations, data stewardship, quality, customer, and EDO teams to define requirements for data quality, timeliness, completeness, and related procedures.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data management, data harmonisation, or related roles serving financial companies, corporates, capital markets, or energy markets.
• Strong understanding of energy transition risks, opportunities, markets, and related data offerings.
• Ability to use S&P Global data solutions to address clean technology and energy transition risk/opportunity needs.
• Strong organisational management and business case development skills.
• Ability to work across business teams and deliver within deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly to leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with data tools and technologies such as Databricks, SQL, ETL, Miro, data visualisation tools, and AI tools such as Spark Air/Assist or Copilot.
• Experience supporting strategic projects and managing client escalations related to data.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
