Established in 1961, Florida Atlantic University is presently catering to over 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students across locations within its six-county service region in southeast Florida. Recognized for having the most ethnically and culturally diverse student body in Florida’s State University System, the university includes a significant number of non-traditional-age students.
While traditionally recognized for its excellence in teaching, FAU is currently experiencing rapid growth as a hub for cutting-edge research, especially in the biomedical field. This development is further propelled by the university’s collaborations with four globally renowned biomedical research organizations: the Scripps Research Institute, the Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute, the Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies, and the Max Planck Society. Notably, FAU’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine recently welcomed its inaugural class, marking a significant milestone.
