Lithium batteries are preferred for RVs and campervans in the United States. You’ll have many near-full or total battery discharges. Therefore, older battery types (which have a much shorter lifespan when discharged below 50%) could be better.

The smart lithium iron phosphate batteries should be connected in series. That entails linking positive to negative and negative to positive in a chain. The red positive power wire from the battery kill switch should connect to the chain’s negative terminal of the first 12V battery. The black negative power line that returns to the negative bar should be connected to the positive side of the last battery in the chain.

With an established DC circuit, you can connect your DC fuse box. Positive and negative connections lead straight to the corresponding bus bars. From here, each fuse can be assigned to the proper DC function. DC lighting, refrigerator, etc. Finally, any residual DC power must be converted to AC for the rest of your devices. As necessary, the pure sine wave inverter is attached to the negative and positive bus bars.

Note the enormous 250A fuse on the positive connection. Improper safety precautions are a leading cause of RV electric fires. Make sure you utilise fuses.

AC can be tapped through the sockets on your pure sine wave inverter. Your inverter’s rating must exceed all conceivable inputs from variable power sources, including the complete solar panel output! Furthermore, the production of all other DC sources must be regulated and limited or added to the overall power figure that the inverter can manage.

With that in mind, you can connect your AC electrical gadgets to the pure sine wave inverter. Use a solar calculator to ensure that your simultaneous power requirements do not exceed your capacity. It can also assess how much juice you can get from the batteries between charges. There isn’t much to diagram on this end of the setup; ensure that each device has a working fuse or is connected to a power strip with a working fuse.
