    It’s not a scientific analogy, I realize, but I visualize climate like a jumble of rubber bands stretched between the fingers on two hands. We can pull and distort that jumble of rubber bands in a variety of directions but left to their own devices they attempt to “snap back” to their original form.

    Although I agree that climate change is a real phenomena I don’t think we have observed what that “snap back” looks like. I predict that we will see that occur — in essence a variation on “for every action an equal but opposite reaction”.

    There is a kind of equilibrium that the global climate is seeking and the more chaotic and destructive, the more effort the climate system is exerting in effort to reestablish equilibrium. Who is to say it won’t succeed — with or without human intervention in climate crisis?
