At 11:30 p.m. on August 25, the deep depression was 70 km southeast of Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. According to an IMD report released at 2 a.m., this system is likely to proceed west-southwest, affecting South Rajasthan and Gujarat before reaching Saurashtra, Kutch, and parts of Pakistan on August 29.

They further stated that another low-pressure area over Bangladesh and Gangetic West Bengal is expected to intensify and move closer to West Bengal, north Odisha, and Jharkhand within the next two days.

Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra are predicted to experience heavy to extremely heavy rains over the next two days.

The weather agency has also warned people to be cautious of high winds, which could gust up to 50 kmph in Madhya Pradesh on August 26 and 60 kmph in south Rajasthan on August 26-27.

The IMD has expected ‘heavy to very heavy’ rain in various spots, with isolated instances of ‘very heavy’ rain, in south Gujarat districts such as Vadodara, Surat, Bharuch, Navsari, Valsad, and Amreli and Bhavnagar in the Saurashtra region until Tuesday morning. On Tuesday, the IMD anticipates ‘heavy to very heavy’ rain, with isolated ‘very heavy’ rain in Anand, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Morbi, Dwarka, and Kutch.

Strong winds of up to 55 kmph are forecast in Gujarat, Pakistan, north Maharashtra, and the northeast Arabian Sea on August 26, with gusts reaching 60 kmph on August 27 and 28.

The seas are forecast to be rough off the shores of Gujarat, Pakistan, and north Maharashtra until August 30. On August 26, rough seas are forecast in the northern Bay of Bengal.

Fishermen have been urged to avoid the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, particularly near Gujarat, Pakistan, and Maharashtra beaches, until August 30. Small ships will have to watch weather conditions and take measures.

The IMD has also recommended that people avoid waterlogged areas and check for traffic advisories before going anywhere. Farmers in vulnerable areas should maintain sufficient field drainage and crop support to prevent rain damage.

The IMD has also released a warning of possible localised flooding, traffic closures, and waterlogging, especially in urban areas along with  heavy rainfall alert in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Landslides and agricultural damage are likely due to flooding in the impacted areas.
