- Armstrong in northern Ontario reached 40.8°C, the region’s highest temperature in more than three decades, while Omidiyeh, Iran, climbed to a scorching 52.7°C.
- Elsewhere, June 2026 became the hottest June ever recorded in Western Europe, while the average global sea surface temperature outside polar regions reached 20.98°C, further reflecting warming oceans.
