WHS Officer Full Time

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with senior Cluster Operations Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to implement and strengthen Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) programs across the assigned cluster.
• Develop, review, and maintain building- and process-level risk assessments, recommending effective control measures to proactively prevent workplace injuries.
• Ensure compliance with global WHS standards and local regulatory requirements by maintaining accurate audit records and supporting legal compliance initiatives.
• Lead the identification, planning, and execution of safety improvement projects by leveraging technical expertise, strong communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Analyze injury data, near misses, safety observations, and Dragonfly reports to identify trends, enabling data-driven decision-making and continuous safety improvements across the region.
• Promote awareness and consistent implementation of the Workplace Health & Safety Management System (WHSMS), driving standardization and addressing non-compliance through corrective actions.
• Coordinate and oversee site self-audits to ensure adherence to WHSMS procedures and achieve zero non-compliance during regulatory and internal audits.
• Build strong partnerships with Human Resources, Facilities, Operations, and WHS teams to improve safety reporting, corrective and preventive action (CAPA) closure rates, and overall operational safety performance.
• Anticipate emerging safety risks during peak operational periods and implement targeted safety initiatives, including onboarding and awareness programs for new employees.
• Make sound decisions in fast-paced and dynamic environments, escalating critical safety issues when appropriate to minimize operational risks.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of WHS professionals by setting clear performance expectations, providing regular coaching, and delivering constructive feedback.
• Support employee growth through career development planning, stretch assignments, succession planning, and recognition programs while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and engagement.
• Balance day-to-day operational responsibilities with leadership, coaching, talent development, and strategic safety initiatives to maintain high-performing WHS teams.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, or at least two years of demonstrated experience implementing workplace safety standards.
• Minimum three years of progressive experience in Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), or environmental programs within manufacturing, production, logistics, or service operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, including the use of pivot tables, charts, graphs, and data analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Engineering or Science, supplemented with ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) or PDIS (Post Diploma in Industrial Safety).
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or an equivalent internationally recognized occupational health and safety certification is considered an advantage.
