Description
This postdoctoral opportunity focuses on research related to climate change impacts across California’s landscapes and coastal environments. Based on the latest California Climate Change Assessment, the state is already facing severe droughts, floods, wildfires, sea-level rise, and record-breaking temperatures linked to climate change.
The role involves studying these climate-related risks and translating scientific findings into practical insights that can support management, planning, and decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications
Ideal applicants should have:
- Strong familiarity with one or more programming languages.
- Ability to work effectively within large, complex, and diverse teams.
- A strong commitment to societal impact and the practical value of science and research.
- Experience or interest in applying science to natural resource management decisions.
- Willingness to work in an open science environment.
- Ability to communicate regularly, clearly, and respectfully.

Eligible applicants include:
- U.S. citizens
- U.S. lawful permanent residents
- Foreign nationals eligible for Exchange Visitor J-1 visa status
- Applicants for lawful permanent residency, asylee, or refugee status in the U.S. with a valid EAD card and pending I-485 or I-589 forms
