Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong and lasting relationships while gaining a deep understanding of their consulting needs. You will be expected to design tailored solutions and provide exceptional service throughout the engagement. You will also manage consulting projects from initiation through completion, making sure deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This includes leading project teams, assigning resources effectively, and maintaining accurate project records. Another important part of the role is leading and mentoring consultants by providing guidance, encouragement, and development opportunities, while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture. From a growth perspective, you will help identify new business opportunities, prepare proposals, and participate in client presentations, while strengthening the client portfolio and industry network. In addition, you will be expected to remain informed about new developments, technologies, and best practices in environmental consulting, and contribute to the firm’s visibility through industry events, articles, and presentations.
Your Team
As a member of the New York City team, you will join a dynamic and creative group of professionals who are passionate about solving client challenges and delivering sustainable outcomes. You will collaborate with colleagues across a wide spectrum of experience levels, from early-career professionals to highly experienced specialists with deep subject-matter expertise. The team environment also emphasizes continuous learning, with opportunities for growth through coaching, mentoring, and hands-on project work.
About You
Ramboll is committed to supporting both your personal and professional growth from the moment you join. To succeed in this position, candidates should bring a strong educational and professional foundation. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a consulting-relevant discipline is required, such as Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of progressively responsible consulting experience, particularly in project management and client relations. Strong technical expertise is also essential, including a deep understanding of regulations, assessment methods, and permitting processes. The role requires proven leadership ability, with experience managing and motivating teams, along with excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills. A strong background in business development is equally important, including demonstrated success in generating leads, preparing proposals, and winning new projects.
