Operations Supervisor – Recycling Full Time

Principal Responsibilities

• Safety improvement: Identify and eliminate unsafe conditions or situations within the recycling center and related post-collection recycling activities.
• Equipment compliance: Work closely with the maintenance department to ensure all equipment remains operational and compliant with safety standards.
• Accident prevention: Oversee safety and accident prevention programs to reduce workplace risks, prevent injuries, and maintain a safe, productive work environment.
• Loss control: Implement and maintain effective safety and loss control programs across operations.
• Safety culture: Encourage employees to actively participate in safety practices by demonstrating personal commitment to safe operations and engaging directly with operational teams.
• Customer service: Deliver service that meets or exceeds customer expectations throughout the entire customer experience.
• Service issue resolution: Resolve unusual service requests, equipment breakdowns, and schedule changes through timely communication with all stakeholders.
• Customer support: Interact with customers to address concerns, resolve issues, and improve overall satisfaction.
• Company representation: Act as a positive representative of the company to strengthen customer trust, satisfaction, and loyalty.
• Productivity management: Establish productivity goals where needed, ensure compliance with operating standards, and manage labour hours and disposal expenses according to approved plans.
• Operational performance: Execute operational plans that support the achievement or exceeding of the division’s budgeted goals.
• Service delivery support: Understand, support, and execute service delivery while actively coordinating with maintenance and operations teams on fleet quality and upkeep.
• Team collaboration: Create a collaborative and communicative team environment that supports employee engagement.
• Talent development: Build and develop team talent by understanding employee career goals and providing coaching to prepare them for advancement.
• Additional duties: Perform other job-related responsibilities as required or assigned.
