Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be expected to take ownership of the following areas:
ESG Evaluation and Strategic Planning: Assess ESG-related initiatives and design strategic approaches that promote responsible business practices and long-term sustainable growth.
Execution of ESG Strategies: Develop and implement ESG strategies aligned with evolving business models, ensuring they address present requirements while supporting future expansion.
Climate Risk Assessment: Demonstrate the ability to perform physical and transition climate risk assessments, including scenario analysis, stress testing, PD, LGD, and ICAAP-related evaluations.
Program Design and ESG Reporting: Lead the development of sustainability and ESG programs along with related reporting processes. This includes conducting materiality assessments, peer benchmarking, stakeholder consultations, gap assessments, and defining relevant metrics and KPIs in accordance with frameworks such as GRI, BRSR, IIRC, SASB, and similar standards. The role also involves preparing both internal and external sustainability reporting materials.
Research and Insights: Carry out sector-specific and market-focused research on ESG themes to support client engagements and strategic recommendations.
Project Coordination: Oversee day-to-day project execution, maintain quality standards, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Market Intelligence and Business Development: Contribute to market research efforts and support business development initiatives aimed at strengthening the company’s market presence and influence.
Key Competencies:
Sustainability Knowledge: Strong understanding of sustainability standards and frameworks, including BRSR, GRI Standards, GHG Protocol, SASB, TCFD, IFRS S1 and S2, UN SDGs, IIRC, ICMA, CDP, and DJSI.
Practical Experience: Hands-on experience in GHG accounting, ESG ratings support such as CDP and DJSI, ESG risk assessment, and sustainability report preparation.
Regulatory Understanding: Sound awareness of current and emerging sustainability-related regulatory developments.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
Analytical Ability: Proven ability to think critically, analyze complex issues, and solve problems effectively.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office tools is essential. Familiarity with sustainability platforms such as Microsoft Sustainability Manager and Salesforce Net Zero Cloud will be considered an added benefit.
RfP/RfQ/RfI Exposure: Solid experience in handling Requests for Proposals, Requests for Quotations, and Requests for Information.
Learning Mindset: A curious and adaptable professional with a willingness to continuously learn and grow.
Client-Centric Approach: Strong commitment to understanding and addressing client needs.
Innovation and Proposal Development: Support the creation of new service offerings and assist in preparing proposals for prospective clients.
Location Requirement: Candidate must be open to being based in Mumbai.
Mandatory Skill Set:
Strong knowledge of sustainability standards and frameworks, including BRSR, GRI Standards, GHG, SASB, TCFD, UN SDGs, IIRC, ICMA, CDP, and DJSI.
