The practice works at the intersection of energy sector business strategy, regulatory advisory, and technology-led transformation. The team collaborates with utilities, regulators, and government stakeholders to improve sector performance through regulatory reforms, tariff structuring, policy development, process optimisation, and digital transformation initiatives.
We engage closely with public utilities and government bodies in India and global markets to design effective regulatory frameworks and support the adoption of emerging technologies, enabling a more efficient, resilient, and modern energy ecosystem.
The role involves preparing detailed financial and regulatory models and supporting filings for Multi-Year Tariff (MYT), Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR), True-up, Annual Performance Review (APR), and Business Plans for transmission and distribution utilities. The candidate should have at least three years of experience in preparing and filing transmission tariff petitions before CERC.
The position requires continuous monitoring of regulatory changes, identifying emerging trends, risks, and opportunities in tariff and policy frameworks. It also involves reviewing international regulatory practices and recommending adaptable approaches for local implementation.
The candidate will be responsible for drafting policy documents, consultation papers, discussion notes, and regulatory submissions covering electricity laws, tariff frameworks, renewable energy integration, and market reforms. Additionally, the role includes preparing high-quality reports, presentations, and client deliverables for utilities and stakeholders.
A key aspect of the role is managing client relationships by serving as a primary point of contact, ensuring satisfaction, resolving issues proactively, and identifying opportunities for long-term engagement. The role also supports business development activities, including opportunity identification, proposal development, and client presentations.
Strong analytical capabilities are required for tariff determination, regulatory compliance, and true-up processes, along with experience in filing petitions before relevant commissions and tribunals.
Candidates should have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, along with strong financial and tariff modelling capabilities. The role requires experience in developing presentations, data visualisation, and synthesising insights into clear, structured storytelling formats.
Strong problem-solving abilities, prior experience in regulatory consulting, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
