Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Sort solid waste into appropriate material categories, including plastics, paper, cardboard, food waste, regulated waste, and other waste streams.
- Use hand tools to separate and manage waste materials safely and efficiently.
- Lift, move, and handle items weighing up to 30 pounds or less as part of daily sorting activities.
- Travel with the team to transfer stations, landfills, and client sites as required.
- Support projects across the continental United States, with the primary focus on the Midwest region.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to travel for project needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the hazardous waste or solid waste field preferred.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for approximately 50% of the workday.
- Ability to walk for approximately 20% of the workday.
- Ability to sit for approximately 30% of the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
- May require occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering depending on worksite needs.
