The data generated can also be used as measurements within an organisation for strategic and management purposes. Furthermore, investors may use ESG data to evaluate enterprise value beyond assessing material risks to the organisation, specifically by designing models based on the assumption that identifying, assessing, and managing sustainability-related risks and opportunities in relation to all organisational stakeholders leads to higher long-term risk-adjusted return. Examples of organisational stakeholders are customers, suppliers, staff, leadership, and the environment.
