{"id":8216,"date":"2026-05-23T10:21:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-23T10:21:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigmaearth.com\/sustainability-jobs\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=8216"},"modified":"2026-05-23T10:21:19","modified_gmt":"2026-05-23T10:21:19","slug":"safety-health-and-environment-manager","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/sigmaearth.com\/sustainability-jobs\/job\/safety-health-and-environment-manager\/","title":{"rendered":"Safety Health and Environment Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 data-section-id=\"1wajri6\">What You\u2019ll Do<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li data-section-id=\"vbrxrs\">Support the implementation of SHE programs and management systems to ensure environmental regulatory compliance across designated Henkel Americas facilities.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1mamy18\">Assist with SHEQ management systems, including <strong>OHSAS 18000<\/strong> and <strong>ISO 14000<\/strong> requirements.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1nfi0ct\">Manage compliance with applicable federal, state, and local safety, health, and environmental regulations.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1725lpx\">Set priorities for safety and health investigations across different work areas and assign tasks accordingly.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"3azho2\">Define sampling priorities for the organisation and request the required budget resources to meet program goals.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"ky8inb\">Develop and recommend engineering controls or process improvements to prevent workplace injuries and occupational illnesses.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"d22k9w\">Conduct follow-up assessments to verify whether recommended corrective actions are effective.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1qfqtoo\">Prepare reports and recommendations independently, while also supporting other employees in developing technical reports.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"fz2fep\">Participate in interdisciplinary teams to address complex safety and health issues through coordinated solutions.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1f3j4jb\">Recommend equipment purchases, engineering controls, workspace layouts, and work process improvements.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"xbc1km\">Identify training needs, develop new training programs when required, and oversee training delivery.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1tomfu8\">Review industrial hygiene sampling strategies and results, and assist with strategy development and result interpretation when needed.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"z3xq0y\">Serve as an internal subject matter expert for safety-related concerns within the organisation.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"8ujvdy\">Identify injury and illness trends and work with relevant teams to reduce occupational risks.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1og799x\">Collaborate with Operations, Risk Control, and other departments to lower workplace injury and illness rates.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"176arc2\">Develop and implement North America region-wide SHE policies, procedures, and programs with guidance from the Regional Director.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1sxe8z8\">Provide technical input to engineers for developing or improving engineering controls.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"196n4cs\">Contribute to the design of new facilities where hazardous materials or hazardous processes will be present.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"vfbie9\">Work with Facilities teams to create new safety committees or expand the scope of existing safety committee activities.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"15jf2b0\">Prepare management reports on safety investigations, evaluations, and safety management issues.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1uggk7e\">Provide leadership and direction to professional and technical staff, while supporting their professional development.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"19bpet6\">Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA, SARA, CWA, CAAA, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1qr3e1w\">What Makes You a Good Fit<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li data-section-id=\"126kld8\">Bachelor\u2019s degree in <strong>Occupational Health, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering<\/strong>, or a related discipline.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"i4ablq\">Minimum <strong>5 years of experience<\/strong> in SHE management functions and administration, preferably within the chemical industry.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1cd5vrr\">Strong working knowledge of federal and state SHE regulations.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1bm8oro\">ASP or CSP certification preferred.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"wxqo4u\">Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; experience with AutoCAD, Visio, or Visual Basic is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"h363aj\">Ability to work effectively with SHE teams, operations management, and plant staff.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1b8sz1f\">Strong problem-solving ability, including handling broad and complex safety and environmental challenges.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"cge57m\">Ability to apply innovative approaches and support change-driven improvements.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"14fp0al\">Experience in emergency response, incident command training, and implementation.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"ksc0ue\">Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, manage time, meet commitments, and handle travel and a demanding workload.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"zdun2b\">Ability to assess business risk and factor it into decision-making.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1y290tj\">Understanding of cost-benefit analysis when evaluating safety and environmental solutions.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"q7venp\">Strong networking skills and ability to identify and use external resources, including specialist contractors.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"13m09u6\">Ability to work effectively within teams and across diverse work groups.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"a83xly\">Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train others.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"5cp0xd\">Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"16c3ake\">Strong listening skills and collaborative approach.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1ged4fk\">Ability to proactively support or lead SHE initiatives that align with business priorities.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1mqo0fw\">Capability to influence strategic business thinking and promote SHE as a business-critical function.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What You\u2019ll Do Support the implementation of SHE programs and management systems to ensure environmental regulatory compliance across designated Henkel Americas facilities.
